Dr. Kenzo Tenma Currently hooked on what could be the greatest mystery/thrilller piece I have read in a long time. Tenma is the protagonists of a manga series called “Monster”. Basically, the story is about how Tenma , a ‘genius’ neurosurgeon in Germany saves a young boy’s life ( named Johan and who was found near death w/a bullet in his head and his family murdered and his twin sister catatonic) by performing an extremely difficult surgery.  However, 10 years later, Tenma finds out that the young boy whom he barely saved many years earlier, turns out to be a professional and cold murderer and now Dr. Tenma sets out on a mission to stop him. The first several murder victims were people who knew or were connected to Tenma and such, he becomes a suspect.   This story is fucking good.  Let me repeat that: this story is fucking good.  I have not read such a well-developed and thought out story before in a long time.  Also, just because someone is a main character, does not mean he or she will live.  B/c after all, every main character becomes a target, including Dr. Tenma, and the mysteries of why Johan kills and the darkness that surrounds him gets deeper and deeper. Honestly, all I can say is that just when I thought I figured out the story, it gets even deeper and more mysterious.  And just when you thought someone was about to make a discovery, he or she is murdered.  When I read it, I could really feel how terrifying and scared it would be to live in that world, as the people try to find out the more and more mysterious Johan…..who is he? Why does he kill? What makes him like that? How was the government involved in creating this monster murderer? And will Dr. Tenma ever be redeemed and proven innocent or will he be captured by tenacious detectives first…or worst, murdered by Johan himself. I highly recommend this manga to anyone who wants to kill a lot of time (well at least a Day): It’s called “Monster” and you’ll find it on any manga site.  It has a 74-episode anime series too.

When I was younger, I used to count how many people wished me happy birthday.

But these last few years, I don’t really care who or how many wish me a happy birthday.  I know if there’s a strong friendship and bond, they will go out of their way to say it in some form another.  Fb, text, in person, call, email, IM, anything.  

But I got to admit, every year, I am always surprised by 2 things: (1) Those who wish me happy birthday first and (2) Those who do not say anything.

Well this was a happy birthday indeed but I didn’t celebrate it with everyone I wanted to so def have much more available for future funnn ;D

Anyways, this was a birthday I got to spend relaxing and going out w/friends such that I returned at 6:30 AM and I don’t feel like sleeping and waking up for my sister’s award ceremony tomorrow >.< 

I think ill listen to the new Soundtrack Score for Mobile Suit Gundam UC by Sawano Hiroyuki (next post).  I love the vocals for the first song, it’s so beautiful.  Perfect mix of calm, deep, beautiful sound and just everything.
